“Tantra
Comic” 8.5x11” black pen sketch and colored in Adobe Illustrator
and Streamline, composited in Photoshop: This was designed for the
cover of Deadly Type 2. The idea was to associate the Hardcore Techno
scene with something other than the usual skulls and horror motif.
The color version of this piece is the definitive version, because
all the stages of Tantra are linked together in order by the color
of their respective “nadis” - which are kind of like positive and
negative energy pathways for tantric energy (that’s an extremely condensed
explanation that might not do it justice but if you are interested
there are many tantric sex books out there you can get a better explanation)
(1999).

“Suz-e-Glitter”:
was to be a character for a Majestic Records CD cover, but they opted
to go for a Japanese Anime look. Kind of a 18 year old “super raver
chick”. Pen drawing. (2001)
|
“Morph
Style”: Cool lettering style that says “Morph” this was
used for the Free-bass article in issue 2. You can just barely make
it out in the background.(2000). |

“Deadly
Buda with 4 Arms”: 8.5x11” “Deadly Buda” (above
right): 8.5 x 11” pen Pen and Design marker. This was designed
to drawing (1993). be a T-Shirt design, so it was intentionally flat-colored
and simple. Actually predated a lot of “Hindu-diety” multi-armed DJ
propaganda (1993). |

The
“TZ Guy”: This was Turbo-Zen’s mascot. One of the few remaining
remnants of the legend of Turbo Zen. I have some T-Shirts that had this
guy on it, somewhere (1992). |
Bastard
Loud original cover design: 12x12” pen on paper. This was to be
the cover for Industrial Strength’s old experimental sub-label Bastard
Loud. I always thought the lettering on the top was very cool, and
made the picture look good. Unfortunately, it was thought to be too
complicated, and I had to block over it and re-do it doing simpler
letters. You can see the final version by clicking here (1993).

D.J.
Deadly Buda-Monster Rock Style: 11x 14” pen on paper. Tough
monster rock lettering style that became the template for the “Melrose
News” Piece if you look closely you can almost tell. Also used on
the “Deadly Buda’s Greatest Hits CD” (1997).

“Citizen
Pain” sticker: 3 x3” Ink on sticker paper. This was the hardcore
punk band I was in during my High School Years in Pittsburgh, PA.
